What You’ll Learn

Tuition: $795 USDBeginner project courseTwo-day boot campKnowledge test + practical assessment

Moves beyond maintenance identification to measured pipe runs, compatible joining, fixture connections, and a documented controlled water check.

Before you start: No formal prerequisite. Plumbing Basics is recommended for first-time tool users; complete the opening component and safety check.

Planned teaching timetable: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM on Day 1 and Day 2, including breaks and lunch. This is the planned class schedule; actual class dates, daily times and venue will be confirmed before enrollment.

By the end, you should be able to

  • Read a simple fixture piping diagram and produce a material/cut list.
  • Choose compatible pipe, fittings, valves, and joining methods from supplied instructions.
  • Assemble a small clean supply and waste fixture trainer.
  • Explain drainage/vent relationships and identify installation conflicts.
  • Record an instructor-controlled water check and correct a training leak.

Entry component check, isolation, contamination prevention, cutting hazards, and spill control.

9:00–10:30

Supply versus drainage/vent diagrams, pipe materials, fitting allowances, and reference dimensions.

10:30–10:45

Break

Your hands-on project

Assemble a sink-trainer supply connection, isolation valve, and removable trap/drain section from the supplied plan. Record material compatibility, dimensions, and the instructor-controlled water/flow check.

Final knowledge test

Ten questions specific to Plumbing Fundamentals, covering the skills, decisions, calculations and safety boundaries taught in this course. Each question is worth two points. Pass mark: 16 out of 20 (80%).

The instructor provides the test after training. Approved accessibility support may change how you respond while keeping the same learning standard.

Practical assessment

Complete the course project and demonstrate the skills individually. Five criteria are scored from 0–4. Pass mark: 16 out of 20 (80%), with no criterion below 2 and every critical safety check passed.

What your instructor will assess

  • Maintain isolation, clean handling, and safe tool/spill controls.
  • Prepare a correct piping sketch, cut list, and compatible material selection.
  • Assemble supported supply/valve connections to the chosen system instructions.
  • Install the training waste connection without unapproved geometry or omitted seals.
  • Document the check, find a seeded defect, and verify the correction.

Training boundaries: Clean training systems only. No fuel gas, combustion work, sewage exposure, or compressed-air testing of plastic pipe. The instructor controls any water-test pressure and procedure.

Earn your certificate of completion

  • Complete both days and all required learning activities; missed content must be made up.
  • Pass the knowledge test and practical assessment separately; a strong score in one does not cancel a failed result in the other.
  • Pass every critical safety check and receive the instructor’s sign-off.

If you need more practice, your instructor records the missing skills and assigns focused review and reassessment. Certificates are issued only after all requirements are met.

Your certificate records completion of this Construction Guys course. It is not a contractor license, trade license, or authorization to perform regulated work independently.

Next learning step: Advanced Plumbing. Your instructor can help you choose based on demonstrated skills.
