Course Overview
Master Commercial Electrical Installation
Advance your electrical career by learning the techniques used in commercial construction projects. This boot camp covers conduit installation, wire pulling, three-phase power systems, commercial lighting, motor circuits, and electrical panel installations through practical, jobsite-focused training.
Course tuition: $895 USD per student.
Your Class Plan
What You’ll Learn
Emphasizes raceway layout, conduit bends, pulling plans, commercial drawings, and motor/three-phase concepts on disconnected models rather than household device installation.
Before you start: Electrical Fundamentals plus demonstrated circuit-diagram skills; equivalent supervised trade experience may be reviewed by the instructor.
Planned teaching timetable: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM on Day 1 and Day 2, including breaks and lunch. This is the planned class schedule; actual class dates, daily times and venue will be confirmed before enrollment.
By the end, you should be able to
- Interpret a commercial single-line, circuit schedule, and raceway route.
- Lay out and fabricate basic EMT bends to a supplied dimensioned exercise.
- Plan conductor identification, pulling direction, protection, and communication.
- Explain three-phase and motor-control relationships using diagrams without energized work.
- Inspect a raceway sample and issue a clear correction record.
Day 1 — Foundations and guided practice
8:30–9:00
Prerequisite check, bending/lifting hazards, energy-control limits, and station setup.
9:00–10:30
Commercial drawing symbols, circuits, schedules, raceway types, and route coordination.
10:30–10:45
Break
10:45–12:00
Demonstrate bend references, stub-up and offset layout, supports, ends, and couplings.
12:00–12:45
Lunch and drinks included
12:45–2:15
Practice bends on short samples and check dimensions against the exercise.
2:15–2:30
Break
2:30–3:45
Assemble a supported EMT route with two bends and an accessible pulling point.
3:45–4:30
Compare the route with the drawing and prepare a conductor/pull plan using supplied references.
Day 2 — Application, assessment and next steps
8:30–9:00
Inspect conduit alignment, burrs, fittings, supports, and previous corrections.
9:00–10:30
Three-phase and motor-control concepts, commercial lighting controls, and disconnected schematic tracing.
10:30–10:45
Break
10:45–12:00
Conduct a supervised low-force pulling exercise and label conductors; diagnose a diagram/route mismatch.
12:00–12:45
Lunch and drinks included
12:45–2:15
Complete an individual bend/inspection station and a pulling/coordination briefing.
2:15–2:30
Break
2:30–3:00
Individual knowledge test: 10 course-specific questions; 20 available points.
3:00–4:00
Individual practical/project assessment, using the course rubric and observations gathered during the project.
4:00–4:30
Feedback, correction plan, certificate eligibility review, and recommended next steps.
Your hands-on project
Fabricate a supported EMT training route with a stub-up and offset using the selected bender’s instructions. Submit a dimension check, conductor identification/pull plan, and annotated disconnected control schematic.
Final knowledge test
Ten questions specific to Commercial Electrical, covering the skills, decisions, calculations and safety boundaries taught in this course. Each question is worth two points. Pass mark: 16 out of 20 (80%).
The instructor provides the test after training. Approved accessibility support may change how you respond while keeping the same learning standard.
Practical assessment
Complete the course project and demonstrate the skills individually. Five criteria are scored from 0–4. Pass mark: 16 out of 20 (80%), with no criterion below 2 and every critical safety check passed.
What your instructor will assess
- Set up bending/pulling work safely and maintain communication.
- Interpret the supplied route and produce accurate bend marks.
- Make serviceable bends and fittings to the posted training dimensions.
- Prepare a reference-based pull/label plan without invented fill assumptions.
- Trace the schematic and document route/installation corrections.
Training boundaries: No energized commercial circuits, live three-phase testing, or operating motor machinery. Powered equipment remains isolated and instructor controlled.
Earn your certificate of completion
- Complete both days and all required learning activities; missed content must be made up.
- Pass the knowledge test and practical assessment separately; a strong score in one does not cancel a failed result in the other.
- Pass every critical safety check and receive the instructor’s sign-off.
If you need more practice, your instructor records the missing skills and assigns focused review and reassessment. Certificates are issued only after all requirements are met.
Your certificate records completion of this Construction Guys course. It is not a contractor license, trade license, or authorization to perform regulated work independently.
Next learning step: Blueprint Reading. Your instructor can help you choose based on demonstrated skills.
